The fifth grade participates in several enriching field trips throughout the year. River Rendezvous by the Minnesota River. This experience highlights what early settlers and Native American life was like in the 1800's in Minnesota. It is a living museum covering several acres, with actors in period costume. It is an all day field trip and the students learn a lot and really enjoy themselves. Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. We attend several performances each year. Valley Branch Environmental Learning Center This field trip is an all day experience in the woods of Afton. Students learn about our natural environment and how we care for it. The students enjoy the day and learn a lot. Como Planetarium We attend the planetarium twice during the year to add to our knowledge about the Moon and Planets. Other Field trips may include the History Center and special trips to see classmates perform in local plays.
