Hi! My name is Beth Behnke, and as the principal of Linwood Monroe Arts Plus PreK-8 school, I extend to you a warm welcome. This is my first year as the principal of this wonderful school. Prior to joining the St. Paul Public School District, I was the Education Placement Coordinator at St. Catherine University and adjunct faculty. Previous to my work at the University I served as school principal for 16 years in the Catholic School System at schools in Savage, St. Paul, and Faribault, MN as well as in Iowa. My classroom teaching experiences have been in Preschool, Kindergarten, 4th, 7th, and 8th grade.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, MN; Master's degree of Education from University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA; and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN.

I grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and attended the MPLS Public Schools. My husband, Scott and I have three children: Chelsea, 19; Ariel, 16; and Cole, 12. You can imagine how busy they keep us. We treasure our time attending their school and sporting events. As a family we enjoy time at the lake with our dogs and extended family.

One of the many aspects of being the principal of this fine school is my commitment to continue to hold high expectations for the success and achievement of all our students. Academic success and achievement depends upon the combined efforts of students, family members and staff. Through this combined effort, our students will receive the best educational experiences that can be provided. We are looking forward to meeting you at Open Houses, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Family Events and Performances.
